The quarterly meeting of the MSI- Domestic Workers Forum India was held at the MSI Auditorium on 22-23 April, 2016. The two day meeting helped the coordinators from 16 towns in Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and Telengana states to report their activities during the first quarter of 2016, and plan for the next quarter. Domestic Workers Coordinators from Sambalpur, Rajam, Vizianagaram, Guntur, Vijayawada, Kurnool, Nalgonda, Uppal , Chaderghat, OU Campus, Mahaboobnagar, Wanaparthy, Suryapet and Nalgonda, Pattancheru and Sanga Reddy participated.
Dr. Vijayapushpam, trainer from National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) gave a lecture on the Nutrition and healthy food habits. Later, Mr. Anil Kumar, presented the Draft of National policy on Domestic Workers. Mr. Sanjeev explained the formation of Ward Committees. Provisions of the Right to Information Act (RTI) were explained. The participants reiterated their commitment to work with even more enthusiasm to protect the rights of domestic workers in the coming months. Sr. Archana, State Coordinator and Sr. Alice ssps of Pattancheru were given a touching farewell as they bid good bye to MSI to take on new assignments.
