National Convention on the Working People’s Charter

The National Convention on the Working People’s Charter was held on 24-25 February, 2017 in Vishwa Yuva Kendra, Delhi. Around 50 people representing workers’ organisations and Trade Unions participated. Among the Charter of Demands, the Convention decided to focus on Minimum Wages and extension of ESI to unorganized workers during the current year. The Working People’s Charter was initiated during the National Workshop organised in Hyderabad in 2013 by Citizens Rights Collective (CiRiC) and Montfort Social Institute (MSI). Today, over 250 organisations and Unions have endorsed the Charter.
